Singles Event in Munich

Dear Single Brothers & Sisters in the International
Church of Christ,
In the last few years we had some great single times:
in the Italian mountains last year and a wonderful singles meeting
in Prague this September. Everybody was very encouraged and friendships
have begun which have grown further between these meetings. I was
very thankful and inspired by the disciples who gave their hearts
for us on these ocassions.
I was very encouraged by the time with singles from
all over Europe in the Prague meeting. Therefore I have decided
to arrange a similar event in Munich at Easter 2010. There will
be sight seeing in this beautiful and historic city, fun activities
and also a special spiritual message for singles. There will be
plenty of opportunuities to meet together and grow those friendships
with other singles in other churches around Europe.
Accomodation will be arranged in a very nice and modern
Youth Hostel near the center of Munich.
The main activities are being planned from Thursday
1st of April (evening) to Monday 5th of April till lunch time. It
would also be possible for disciples to stay longer if they want.
I need to be informed about this to make arrangements.
I think this is also very important as of the disciples
staying longer and we will focus on trying to get places to stay
for them with our disciples here and some further activities. Specially
for people coming a long way this is to be recommended.
That means at least four nights in the hostel. To
save costs and give us more time together, we plan to share 4 or
6 bed rooms. If anybody needs a single room, I need to be informed
as soon as possible. The shared rooms will cost around 30 €
per night/per person and a single room around 45 € per night.
Breakfast is included in the price. You need to decide whether you
want to attend and make full payment by Jan 31st 2010. Otherwise
we cannot reserve the rooms.

that you can't attend the event! We will find places for you for

It is planned to organise other activities in smaller groups for
the singles that want to stay longer (before or after the event).
Hello Singles
We are working hard so you will have hopefully a great, encouraging
and inspirational time next week in Munich. Not just the singles,
but also the rest of the church is having a special focus on taking
care of you and your needs. Without God's support and heart, we
would have been unable to manage this.
Here is the latest schedule with the options from which you can
choose:
Thursday 1st of April
18.00 Meet in Alte Wirt Bar/Restaurant opposite the youth hostel.
If you are in the hostel you will get an evening meal (included
in the price) between 18.00 and 19.00 o'clock. Afterwards you can
join the group in the bar for a drink and some first talks.
Friday 2nd of April
10.00 Meet in city centre (Marienplatz) for sightseeing. There will
be 3 groups with different destinations you can choose of
12.00 - 14.00 Meet in Restaurant in Main train station
14:00 - 14:30 Travel with metro/subway to church building for spiritual
time
15.00 - 18.00 Sermons and Workshop
18.30 - 19.00 Break
19.00 - 21.00 Lord's supper
Saturday 3rd of April
There will be 3 different excursions you can choose of. They will
be outside of Munich - different prices and difficulty. If you want
to go into the mountains, bring good walking shoes (mountain climbing
shoes are not needed) for a max 2 hours hike. We return early evening
with some free time afterwards.
Sunday 4th of April
11.00 - 12.30 Church Service
12.30 -14.00 Our church has invited you all for a meal together
in the church building.
Late afternoon optional: ballroom dancing course for those who are
interested in learning from a brother who is talented in teaching
dance. Otherwise there are some nice walks along a river to a beer
garden and castle near the church building (15 minutes one way).
18.00 - 24.00 Singles Party (incl. clean up afterwards)
Monday 5th of April
10.00 - 13.00
Optional Program
1) Fellowship streaming (a spiritual way to do speed dating) near
the hostel. The participating brothers put their names on a paper
in a hat and the sisters can choose a brother without knowing who,
by selecting a paper. The brother has one hour to spend time with
the sister. To get to know each other, encourage each other and
enjoy the area near the hostel. Cafés (often very important
for sisters), beautiful walks along the river or in the Flaucher
woods. After 1 hour return to the hostel to get into the 2nd and
3rd round on time.
2)Sport - we are still checking
3)You can do something you like - in a small group. It's up to you
to organise and decide. There's plenty to see in Munich.
13.00 - 14.30 We would like to finish together with a restaurant
meal near the hostel and afterwards a prayer in the nearby park.
If you need to leave earlier don't worry but we would like to finish
with as many together as possible. We will send another e-mail beginning
of next week with an exact program and the addresses.
Brigitta is responsible for arranging where
you can stay with disciples. You should receive an e-Mail
in the next three days with the contact details of the disciples
where you are
staying. Please arrange directly with them when you will arrive
and get the key etc. Only if you have problems contact Brigitta!
We will contact all who are staying in the
hostel. Finally if you haven't registered yet then it's still
possible if you are prepared to stay with disciples. The hostel
is full. For those who are coming earlier or later we will try to
do extra things together with you.
